* Time flies when you have a baby.
Little Angel
Our little angel
Lots of changes; I'm all recovered but sleep-deprived, Valerie is growing fast and gets her two-month immunizations next week, the web site is getting a makeover. The munchkin, emphasis on the 'munch', still eats about every two hours during the day and doesn't sleep as much, either. At least she has one long sleep period at night and eats less often the rest of the night! I haven't been able to get online for a while, so if you've e-mailed me or whatever, I promise I'll get to you as soon as I get a chance.

* Eight days old!
Valerie at one week
One week old
She looks like a magazine picture, doesn't she? The lack of sleep is catching up with us, and I'm ready to be all recovered now but I'm not quite. As the husband said the other day, it doesn't seem like she's only a week old. You may have noticed that I've posted several entries at once; I've been writing, but not getting online. Too much trouble, and the cord across the living room floor is kinda dangerous. Hopefully, this won't be as much of a problem now that Valerie is sleeping a bit longer between feedings. It certainly won't be as much trouble when the husband goes back to work next week, since he won't be playing WoW so much. ;)

* Sleep is good.

One day old
Humongous breasts, not so much. It could be worse, I guess. Valerie has been waking up to eat almost exactly every two hours; that and a warm beanbag keep me from being too uncomfortable. It's amazing how long two hours can be, though. I feel like I'm getting enough sleep, although that may change as the lack of sleep accumulates.

* It's a baby!
Valerie
At the hospital
Valerie Sasha, born at 5:55 am, January 4; 7 lbs. 7 oz., 19 and a quarter inches long. Labor didn't last too long, and I barely got the epidural in time. Epidural good! We went to the hospital about 9 pm on the 3rd because OUCH those contractions hurt, and they sent us home. A few hours later, around 3:30 am, we were back because I couldn't do anything but hobble around in pain, but it didn't last long after that!
I'm so proud of Phillip, the husband. He really helped during labor and didn't freak out or anything during the delivery, and he's very good with Valerie. In fact, he's a great daddy already; I don't know what I'd do without him. Be a really stressed-out mommy, I guess.

* Happy New Year! We went to a party at a friend's house, and Mike came and spent the night at our house. So many people at the party asked nervously when I was due. Now if these contractions would just get closer together! I bet we have a baby this week. I certainly hope so. It's more uncomfortable than painful, but I wouldn't want to put up with this early labor stuff for too long.
